3S Artspace is thrilled to announce our inaugural Portsmouth Print Expo (and Exhibition). The Expo takes place on August 10 and 11, and is supported through an auxiliary exhibition in the Gallery throughout August.

For our inaugural year, 3S Artspace invites submissions from printmaking artists ages 18+ from New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. 

Portsmouth Print Expo In This Moment will:

• Celebrate and support printmaking artists in a variety of mediums (including 3D Printing);
• Expand the public's understanding of printmaking through on-site demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions; and
• Promote sales.

If you are new to 3S Artspace, we are a thriving non-profit contemporary arts organization in Portsmouth, NH that has a performance space, gallery, shop, and restaurant on site. We have had great success with other artisan fairs, festivals, and exhibits, and recognize the need and opportunity to elevate printmaking in our region. After helpful consultation and consideration, we are ready to launch and can't wait to share the work of talented printers from the Northeast.

Exhibition Dates: August 2 - 25, 2024
Exhibition Opening Reception:  Friday, August 2, 2024 // 5 - 8pm

We are seeking original work created within the past four years. Photographs or reproductions of original artwork will not be considered. With our soaring ceilings in the Gallery, we are able to consider monumental work as well as work in more traditional sizes. The application form that follows requires information from applicants regarding size and medium, as well as digital images of works.  

Artists are asked to consider work that relates to the prompt "In This Moment"
What's on your mind? What are you loving? Celebrating? Protesting? Contemplating? Grieving? Honoring?

PORTSMOUTH PRINT EXPO:

Expo Dates: Saturday, August 10 +  Sunday, August 11, 2024 

The Portsmouth Print Expo takes place on August 10 + 11 and includes the printmaking exhibit in the Gallery, as well as artists selected as vendors (with preference given to artists living in NH, ME, and MA), special demos, workshops, music, and more.  

Please note: There are limited vendor spaces for the Expo, and we will be inviting some artists for exhibition only. Please follow along in the application for more guidance. All exhibiting artists are invited to sell work on exhibition and up to 10 associated prints in smaller sizes (up to 18 x 24) in our Shop at 3S from August 2 - 25.

Exhibit Sales:  A 40% commission will be charged on all exhibition and Shop at 3S sales. 

Expo Sales: Artists invited to participate in the Portsmouth Print Expo weekend as vendors will pay a $200 booth fee and retain 100% of sales revenue on August 10 + 11 during the Expo. 

Shipping/Drop-off of Work:  Shipping is the responsibility of the artists. On-site drop-offs are welcome when possible, and if invited, more details will be shared.

If Selected: An artist agreement, detailing terms, insurance coverage, etc. will be shared and you can count on our team for successful promotion.
